In Hoodoo, the earth is not separate from spirit - it is alive, remembering, and responsive. Roots, stones, dirt from specific places, and the plants that grow there all carry history, intention, and power. The earth holds the wisdom of our ancestors and the medicine they trusted.
Shine is the spark - spirit, breath, intuition and divine presence. It is the unseen force that animates my work, the light that guides prayer, petition and intention. When I work with the herbs, oils, baths and tools, I am calling that light to awaken what already lives within the earth.
Everything I create is made with reverence for the land, the ancestors, and the magick that happens when earth shines.

Spiritual Herbalism
Spiritual herbalism means that we acknowledge the inherent spirit and personhood of plants; just as our ancestors have done since the beginning. When we honor the spirit of plants, we enter into conscious and respectful relationship with them- and this is what our tradition of herbalism is all about. We don't look at the herbs as 'things that do this when we take them' or 'this herb for this illness'. Rather, we do work which leads to deep and immersive personal connections to the plant allies we connect with and pass that on to each person we serve in the apothecary, in our medicines, and in our classes.
